Cape Town

And so to the final destination, inevitably via Jo'burg airport: Cape Town. We stayed in the luxurious Arabella Sheraton, close to the Waterfront, and divided our time between the scenic beauties of the Cape, and the fascinating reminders of its troubled past.  Glorious weather meant perfect views of the Cape's rugged coastline and exuberant plantlife; and of Table Mountain from every angle.  Robben Island and the township tour brought home vivid lessons about the injustices of apartheid; as well as of the heroic efforts all South Africa's people are now making towards reconciliation.
