A four-hour journey by dirt road took us from Lilongwe airport to the lake. We spent the night of 23 December at the rather strange Club Makakola; travelling on Christmas Eve (Ben's birthday), by road and then sea kayak, to our own tropical island paradise, Domwe. After two nights, including Christmas, there, and having been joined by the Foxon family from Durban, we moved on Boxing Day morning to Mumbo. If you can believe it, this was even more beautiful.
